Body Guard Review

Bodyguard Movie Review
** This is our panel opinion, not for publicity
Rating :**  2/4

Banner : Sai Ganesh Productions
Cast : Venkatesh, Trisha, Saloni, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandam, Ali,
Music Director : S.S Thaman
Producer: Bellamkonda Suresh
Director: Gopichand Malineni
Released Date: January 14, 2012

Story: A remake tale, the story begins with a flashback from a diary and it is about Venkatadri (Venkatesh). He is saved in his childhood by Varadarajulu Naidu (prakash raj) and since then he has great respect and reverence for Varadarajulu. A situation comes wherein Venkatadri is sent as a bodyguard to Varadarajulu. However, Varadarajulu appoints Venkatadri as bodyguard to his daughter Keerthi (trisha) since her life is in danger. Venkatadri takes his job seriously and his discipline is not liked by Keerthi. She decides to play a prank on him and starts calling Venkatadri from unidentified number stating she is in love. After some time, Venkatadri sincerely falls in love without knowing it is Keerthi and seeing his sincerity even Keerthi also falls in love. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Bodyguard Telugu Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with an rehashed storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was not that intense. The dialogues were good at places, the script was written with moderate appeal and screenplay was steady. Background score was good and three songs were impressive. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was colourful and rich. Venkatesh has come up with a balanced performance and he carried it well. Trisha looks pretty and very attractive in Sarees. Saloni looks sensuous and has that irresistible sex appeal in her. Prakash Raj was matured. Kota was brief. Ali was apt. Venu Madhav brought few smiles. Pragathi, Dharmavarapu gave the required support. The others didn’t have scope.

Opinion: The film is the remake of the Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’ and it has been lifted and shifted in the right manner barring few fight sequences. While the first half goes in a mild manner, it is the second half which gets into some momentum. The last twenty minutes is the key to the film which scores. Overall, the film has been made with high quality technical values and it could have created more impact if the comedy was strong and the length was trimmed. At the box office, this will appeal to the family audience, ladies and those who like matured romance so above average returns are expected.

verdict: Decent family entertainer
